[Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! It is a time of generosity, and so Vietnam would like to share some food that one can share with family and friends. A package containing some bánh quy bơ quế (butter cookies with Vietnamese cinnamon MMMM), and an assortment of mứt (candied fruit preserves) for the New Year.

Since Celty uses her phone a lot too, Vietnam included these as well. Also a card is included:]

[When they arrive at her apartment, Sakamoto finds himself hugging Celty's body tightly. She is not warm, which is strange, but he assumes that's because she probably isn't human. No human would have powers like that! Ah, but that's not important, it doesn't make her any less wonderful or special or alive.

After she opens the door, he reluctantly releases his hold and drops to his feet, properly able to stand now.]

Oh? Is this your place?

[The apartment is barely furnished- Much like his own living space on the Kaientai. Sakamoto actually owns very few possessions, because he feels it a waste of money to acquire things he does not need. That and he hardly spends any time resting in his own personal space, preferring the company of others.

And apparently, she's the same way.]

Now, Vietnam knew that Celty had some confusion over what this outing with Sakamoto was. An outing between friends? A date with intention? Or just a date because he was joking about it? She assumed, from the conversation she was sent and had read, that it was going to be an outing between friends. That being said, if the intention was already there...

She spots Celty while they managed to get a break.]

Hello, Celty, how was last night?

[That was fast.]

[In the sultriest voice he can muster:]

Chocolate is delicious, but you know what I'd really like to taste?

[He chuckles, low and throaty.]

[And, after a pause and a chirp of a laugh:]

Happy Valentine's Day.

[Sakamoto rolls over in Celty's bed, grogglily blinking as he feels himself being stirred from sleep. He clutches his head with one hand, as if recovering from a hangover.]

Man! What a crazy wet dream!

[It wasn't a dream. It really happened.]

Ahhh, wait a minute. She wasn't even wet.

There's something I need to tell you.

( He'd always been a bit of a regular-- poking in to check on Vietnam, Mitsutada, and Ookurikara. Even before, he'd helped out here and there with some of the other employees, helping to lift heavier things and higher shelves. But at some point this month, he'd begun working... a little more regularly for the holiday. He doesn't show up on any of the shift schedules, but here he is fairly regularly! He's even gotten to know some of the other employees by now.

When Celty arrives from her most recent delivery, he's in the middle of putting down some arrangements for the display window. )

Celty-san?! That was fast!

[It seems as though the storm that's been brewing inside of him these past few months has manifested in a similar sort of chaos on the outside as well, that apartments and buildings have been damaged, and that some people have hurt in the process.

Sakamoto remembers what Celty said to him: "I am unbreakable."

And he believes it, so he decides to leave a message:]

You're real busy, aren'tcha? Runnin' around, tryin' ta help all those folks in need.

I know you well enough to know what you're doin'.

[He'll be doing the same.

Sakamoto has managed to keep the kitten from drowning, at the very least.]

[Sakamoto hasn't seen Zura in days. He's worried and he should be, seeing as people could disappear in an instant if their code glitched (or something like that.) And so, he crouches among the ruins, picking up a rock and examining the space that was beneath it with a look of curiosity.]

Is he under here? Damn it! I can't tell.

[Sakamoto looks into the distance, with a very serious expression on his face.]

He always was a master of disguise...

[And Sakamoto arrives at the club as promised, on-fucking time for once, because it's easy to be on time for her. He's been on many "dates" of this variety, but this is a real date, not just the precursor to an evening of debauchery with a woman who might as well be a complete stranger.

She may not know how to dance, but neither does he- In fact, when he frequents these kinds of places, he often feels like a geezer, as much of the crowd is almost a decade or so younger than him. That and, even if there are others the same age, he already has goals in mind, takes care of his own business, and isn't in the mood for anything but one too many drinks (and maybe an easy lay, if he's lucky).

This is different. Tonight, he's ready to dance until his legs give out.]

[He hasn't heard from her in a while.

Maybe she's finally snapped out of it. Maybe she's realized that getting involved with him was a bad idea.

Even so, he can't help himself, it's hard going so long without speaking to her. It's been this many days, and although he's tried so hard not to irritate her with messages and texts, Sakamoto types out something brief on his phone:]

[Unlike most people, falling in midair (and to his potential death) doesn't leave Sakamoto with an extreme sense of panic. In fact, his reaction may seem almost irrational- He's irrationally happy.

Happy to finally feel weightless, to feel free.

He does idly glance to the side before consciousness leaves him, noticing that he's alone. Suddenly, the joy subsides. Worry and sweat creep over the back of the merchant's neck as cold wind washes over his body, much like the ocean once had.
