[ when she hears tapping on her door, she nearly drops the vase of flowers in her hand. she fumbles with it, thankfully manages to set it on the table without too much incident before taking a moment to calm her nerves. she's never celebrated valentine's before, never did anything special aside from her usual routine. she knows about it, yes, but knowing and actually doing something for it are two very different things. spending the night with shinra is also different from spending the night with sakamoto, and sometimes she wonders if maybe what she's doing is wrong.

it's always been frightening to become close to someone. it's always been terrifying to become close to someone this quickly. but fear is a part of life and running away from your fears for the rest of your life is no way to live.
