[ the feeling of his lips on her skin makes her fingers twitch a little in his grasp, intensifying the warmth she felt earlier. his touch is so warm, gentle to the point that it almost pains her. she's never felt it before and it almost frightens her to admit that she doesn't mind it, this soft intimacy.

she turns her hands in his grasp and carefully laces their fingers together. ]

[Perhaps this is the first time she's felt this, so he lets her hold him for the time being.

He's struck by a strange sense of yearning, something more than wanting to just touch, strong and irresistible like the pull of a planet's gravitational force. He pays it no mind, attributing the excitement to his time away from home and his typical pleasures.]

[He rubs his thumb over the areas he's just kissed.]

[ she fights down a shiver at his touch, feeling a little overwhelmed by everything that happened earlier. though her hands are still in his grasp, tendrils of smoke sweep over her device and the automated voice plays again. ]

[ he accepted her, readily and without fear. it's more than she could have hoped for. ]

[He notices the billowing smoke, making a few guesses as to what it means.]

I should probably go, huh?

This evening must've been hard on you! You seem a little tired.

[Which pretty much means it's probably the next business day.

Now, Vietnam knew that Celty had some confusion over what this outing with Sakamoto was. An outing between friends? A date with intention? Or just a date because he was joking about it? She assumed, from the conversation she was sent and had read, that it was going to be an outing between friends. That being said, if the intention was already there...

She spots Celty while they managed to get a break.]

Hello, Celty, how was last night?

[That was fast.]

[ when she woke up this morning, she wondered if everything that happened the night before was actually a dream. she knew it wasn't of course, especially when the mug she had given sakamoto was still on the kitchen table and full with water. it was silly to think so, but she was so worried going into it that she didn't expect anything to come out of it. least of all his acceptance of her supernatural status.

she found herself thinking about it throughout the day during lulls between deliveries, replaying the things he'd said, the things he'd done. despite everything, it still seemed a little surreal.

vietnam's voice brings her out of her thoughts, turning around to greet her with her device. she had expected the other woman would ask her for details, she did seek her advice the day before after all. ]

Hello, Vietnam. It went well, better than I had expected.

[ that's a start. ]

I'm a little tired, but I'm fine.

[ a part of her wonders if she's dreaming. ]

But please, don't let me keep you if you need to head back. Thank you again for spending tonight with me.

[Considering how she's been looking all day, Vietnam wouldn't have matched that with "Better than I expected". Wonder what happened?]

Oh? Really? What was it like? Or what happened, if you wouldn't mind speaking of it.

[Some of the conversation could've been rather personal, so she wouldn't want to be an imposition if it is meant to be secret.]

[She probably needs some time to ruminate. What he doesn't realize is that when he leaves, he'll be haunted by thoughts of her. When he pauses work throughout the day, when he's in bed at night...

But for now he releases her hands and gets up to walk to her side of the table. He bends over, wrapping his arms around her waist to give her a quick squeeze.]

I had fun.

[Sakamoto then does something mischievous- He plants a soft kiss on the nape of her neck, letting his lips linger for a moment before pulling away altogether. He then turns to her and waves.]

[ god, where does she even start? maybe with the most important bit: ]

He saw me without my helmet on and it didn't bother him at all.

[ she grips the cloth on his back when he hugs her, gives a strange full body shudder when he kisses her neck, thankful for the fact she's holding onto him. the smoke billowing from her neck briefly increases in volume after he pulls away and she walks him to the door, waving as he leaves.

when he's gone, she closes the door and leans back against it, letting herself relax completely. many things happened and she's not sure if she can process everything at the moment, opting to sleep on it instead as she makes her way to bed.

maybe things will clear up a little more in the morning. or so she hopes. ]

[There's silence that follows, only because Vietnam has to repeat it in her head that Sakamoto is not bothered by Celty's lack of head. She knows many others do not have an idea, and think the helmet is a gimmick, but she knows. And she knows how Celty doesn't want to be treated differently because of it.

This...this is actually relieving news.]

What a nice man. He really does honour your company.

[ nodding, right... rIGHT? ]

[ but ah: ]

He's also very honest. He vomited on the street when we were walking and admitted to committing murder, embezzlement, fraud, perjury, and a number of other crimes in his lifetime.

[ i mean like this does not take away from the fact that she thinks sakamoto is a nice man, but still. ]

[She moves her hand to tap her chin. Honestly, as long as he's not doing it anymore, then perhaps it is not as bad as it could be. None of them can admit to being completely honest anyway.]

One can hope. At least you are able to handle him, no? At the very least, his telling you of his previous sins probably means that he won't be doing it anymore, to trust you with such information.

but back to the main point. she remembers the way he had told her, with a determined, almost angry expression on his face. she remembers the way he had held her hand when he said it, his grip firm and reassuring. ]

I think he told me in order to make me feel less ashamed, in that he assumed I had done something unforgivable. I think he told me out of a desire to offer comfort and reassurance.

Deities, to admit to one's sins just to put himself down in order to reassure her. That also takes a confident man.]

Why did he assume that? Though that is still brave of him. Were it anyone else other than you, he might have gotten into trouble.

[ her shoulders slump a little and it takes her a longer time to reply, typing and deleting her messages right after. after a few tries, she finally plays her next response. ]

Throughout the night, he was very sweet. He complimented me a lot and I wasn't sure how to respond to it, I don't think I'm as grand as he believes me to be.

I think he may have taken my hesitance as a sign that I was hiding something? That I was feeling ashamed. He was partly right.

We are all our own worst critics, no? I would know, apparently I'm the worst when it comes to that. His compliments may be something he sees that you can't.

But, it's strange. When I was with him, there were instances where I felt like I was human, if that makes sense? I would forget that I am different.

[Actually, she could understand this perfectly. Only because she's not quite human either, and if there's one thing every country wants to know, it's how nice it is to be 100% human. Sure they have the same habits, but living forever sure makes things different.]

That's rather nice, no? To be able to feel that, it's very comfortable to not worry about anything and just feel like that. He must have a very strong effect.
